The 11th NY Regiment USV-A, is designated an Authorized Provider – Level III of Military Funeral Honors by the U.S. Department of Defense through the 99th Reserve Support Command, Fort Dix, New Jersey.

The United States Volunteers-America, Inc. is a Veterans Service Organization (VSO) recognized by the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

WHO WE ARE

The 11th NY Regiment serves Veteran’s families throughout the the five boroughs of New York City and Long Island. We assist Military Honor Guards, from all branches of service, at both private cemeteries and the area’s National Cemeteries with both firing parties and bugler. Our Color Guard teams represent the USV-A and support the presentations by area American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War Posts, and other Veteran Administration and Veteran organizations’ ceremonies across the region.

WHO WE SERVE

Membership is open to all honorably discharged US Veterans and patriotic individuals over the age of 18.Members are non-paid professionals required to pay an initial fee and annual dues. In addition, members are responsible for all of their own expenses including the purchase of their own equipment and providing their own transportation to and from services.Monthly drills are held at the Lynbrook VFW Post 2307, 235 Merrick Road, Lynbrook, New York on the first Saturday of every month.  At this time training is provided in ceremonial rifle drill, flag folding and presentation, Color Guard and Standard Operating Procedures for Military Funeral Honors. Government approved firearms safety courses and other classes as stipulated by USV-A National Headquarters may be required.

The uniform of the USV-A and its designated units is a modified US Army uniform with distinctive insignia. Our uniform does not use buttons showing the Great Seal of the Nation.  Accomodation is made to members who are US Veterans for the wearing of ribbons and awards earned during their military service – regardless of the branch in which they served. Authorized wearing of the USV-A uniform is during the performance of ceremonial duties, during training, for meetings and conferences only. Members are responsible for the purchase of their own military uniforms.
